The Queen will reportedly make former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips a Dame in her birthday honours next week.

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips will reportedly be made a Dame in The Queen's birthday honours next week.

The 78-year-old, who has been dancing since the age of three, has spent decades in the industry choreographing some of the biggest West End and Broadway shows.

Phillips was one of the original judges on Strictly, appearing in the first six series before being dropped and replaced by Alesha Dixon in 2009.

In 2013 she was made a CBE for her services to dance and charity, and according to The Sun, she will be upgraded to a Dame when the next set of honours is announced next week.

Phillips is currently working on choreography for a new UK tour of Grease as well as the new German production of Starlight Express.
