Andrew Garfield again denies Spider-Man rumours

Andrew Garfield again denies Spider-Man rumours
Andrew Garfield insists that he is not involved in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home movie but admits that it would be a "f***ing cool" concept.

Andrew Garfield has insisted that rumours linking him with a shock appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home are wide of the mark.

The new film - due out this Christmas - will see Tom Holland's Spidey cross paths with Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) and Electro (Jamie Foxx), two villains from Tobey Maguire and Garfield's respective stints as the superhero.

With the concept of a "multiverse" being introduced to the MCU over the last few years, there has been intense speculation that Maguire's Spider-Man and Garfield's Spider-Man will also appear but all parties involved have consistently denied the possibility.

"I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I'm a fan as well," Garfield told Variety.

"You can't help but imagine scenes and moments of 'Oh, my God, how fucking cool would it be if they did that?'

"But it's important for me to say on the record that this is not something I'm aware I am involved in.

"But I know I'm not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don't know what's happening. No matter what I say, I'm fucked.

"It's either going to be really disappointing for people or it's going to be really exciting."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is due for release on December 17.
