David Walliams reportedly signs a deal to return for the next series of Britain's Got Talent, supposedly ending speculation that Piers Morgan could rejoin the panel.

David Walliams has reportedly agreed a deal to return for the next series of Britain's Got Talent.

The news effectively ends speculation that Piers Morgan could rejoin the panel of the long-running reality show, as the former Good Morning Britain host has insisted that he will never return to the show while showbiz enemy Walliams is still on board.

According to The Sun, all four of the show's judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Walliams and Alesha Dixon - are now confirmed to return for the next series, which is expected in early 2022.

"It's business as usual on BGT. If it's not broken, don't fix it," a source told the newspaper.

"The format is still a great one, and that involves all four judges, including David.

"He does sometimes press Simon's buttons in the wrong way but it's hard to imagine him not being there."

This year's series was cancelled due to the production problems caused by coronavirus.
