Russell Henley holds a one-shot lead going into the final day of the Deutsche Bank Championship, but Rory McIlroy is just two shots off the pace in Boston.

American Russell Henley leads the Deutsche Bank Championship by one shot going into the final round at TPC Boston.

The 25-year-old pulled ahead of the pack with a six-under round of 65 to move to 12-under for the tournament after starting the day in fifth place, in a round which included seven birdies.

Compatriot Billy Horschel is just one shot off the pace after recording a four-under round of 67 to continue his consistent performance at the tournament.

However, world number one Rory McIlroy is in striking distance of the top two as he fired the best round of the day with a seven-under 64 along with Chris Kirk, with both players finishing tied third on 10-under for the competition.

Ryan Palmer, who led the competition after day one and two, fell back to seventh place after recording another even-par round of 71.
