Adam Scott in no rush to appoint full-time caddie

Adam Scott reveals that he will not be rushing to appoint a permanent caddie following the retirement of Steve Williams.

Adam Scott has insisted that he will not be rushing to appoint a new full-time caddie as he looks to fill the void left by Steve Williams.

The world number two has received over 100 applications for the post since Williams retired in September, but he admits that it will be difficult to find a permanent replacement for a man who enjoyed so much success in a 30-year career.

"You cannot replace a Steve Williams," Scott told reporters. "I was lucky to get Steve three years ago, but I always knew I was on borrowed time.

"I cannot go out and look for the next Steve Williams. I don't think that's possible. I need to go out and find what is going to work for me at this stage in my career.

"I have some time on my hands and I won't make a decision long-term till next year. I need to see a few personalities, see what gels best. It's like any relationship."

Scott will compete at the WGC-HSBC Champions event in Shanghai this week.
