ITV reportedly revives Channel 4's reality format Undercover Boss for a new series, seven years after it last aired in the UK.

ITV has reportedly decided to commission a new series of Channel 4's defunct reality format Undercover Boss.

The show - first broadcast in 2009 - sees the head of a large company go undercover as part of the frontline workforce to explore the real issues affecting their organisation and its employees.

Channel 4 brought the programme to an end in 2014 after six series, but the format has gone on to be adapted in dozens of countries around the world including the US, where it is now into its 10th season.

According to Deadline, ITV has ordered a new series of the show at a time when UK businesses are dealing with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and adapting to a post-Brexit trading environment.

Due to the covert nature of the show, the broadcaster has yet to officially announce the commission as filming is still thought to be ongoing.
