Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ruben Vinagre re-joins Sporting Lisbon on loan after the Molineux club's capture of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ruben Vinagre has re-joined Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon on loan for the 2021-22 season.

The left-back was shipped out on loan to Olympiacos and Famalicao during the 2020-21 campaign, playing only four games for the Greek giants before turning out 20 times for Famalicao in his homeland.

After announcing the permanent capture of Rayan Ait-Nouri from French side Angers, Wolves confirmed that Vinagre had sealed another return to his native Portugal with Sporting, the reigning Liga NOS champions.

Sporting also have the option to purchase the 22-year-old at the end of his loan spell, and he returns to the side he represented as a youngster between 2012 and 2015 before joining Monaco's youth academy.

Vinagre featured just three times for Wolves last season before heading to Olympiacos, and he boasts three goals and three assists from 70 appearances for the West Midlands outfit since originally arriving on loan from Monaco in 2017.
