PSV Eindhoven 'pull plug on Wolverhampton Wanderers deal for Jurgen Locadia'

Wolverhampton Wanderers are left "scrambling" for a new striker after PSV Eindhoven reportedly pull the plug on their move for striker Jurgen Locadia.

Dutch side PSV Eindhoven have reportedly pulled the plug on Wolverhampton Wanderers' £10m deal for striker Jurgen Locadia at the 11th hour.

Earlier today the Midlands side were understood to have reached an agreement for the 23-year-old, who has scored 37 goals in 114 league appearances for PSV.

According to the Express & Star, however, PSV suddenly decided to pull out of the deal this afternoon, leaving Nuno Espirito Santo's side "desperately scrambling for a new striker".

Following the sales of Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Nouha Dicko, as well as the loan exit of Joe Mason, Wolves have just one recognised senior striker among their ranks - the on-loan Brazilian Leo Bonatini.

Nuno has made the capture of a new striker a priority in the final month of the window and has been linked with the likes of Sheffield Wednesday's Jordan Rhodes, Preston North End's Jordan Hugill, Newcastle United's Dwight Gayle and Porto pair Vincent Aboubakar and Tiquinho.

Wolves are also said to have failed with a £15m approach to re-sign former striker Benik Afobe from Bournemouth.
