David Moyes will reportedly remain as manager of West Ham United having held discussions with the club's board on Friday.

West Ham United have reportedly decided to retain the services of manager David Moyes.

On Wednesday night, the Hammers enjoyed one of the best nights in their history as they won the Europa Conference League with victory over Fiorentina.

A 90th-minute goal from Jarrod Bowen secured a 2-1 triumph over the Italian side, booking a place in next season's Europa League in the process.

Declan Rice has since declared that Moyes deserves to be regarded as one of the club's best-ever managers, backing up two top-seven finishes in the Premier League with a continental trophy.

Nevertheless, the future of the Scot has been far from certain, a consequence of West Ham spending much of the season attempting to survive in the top flight.

Had West Ham failed to overcome Fiorentina in Prague, the 2022-23 campaign would have theoretically been regarded as a failure due to dropping down the pecking order on both the domestic and European scene.

The East Londoners ultimately finished in 14th spot, six points clear of the relegation zone, yet it appears that Moyes will not be departing the club in the near future.

According to Sky Sports News, the 60-year-old is now in line to stay in the dugout and attempt to win a second European trophy in a row.

Moyes and chairman David Sullivan are known to have held discussions on Friday to determine key points over transfers and the potential sale of Rice.

The expected exit of the club captain and star man will likely bring in at least £90m, providing Moyes with the funds to sign a replacement and strengthen other areas of his squad.

While a formal announcement is yet to be forthcoming, the expectation is that Moyes has already started the process of rejigging his squad in preparation for 2023-24.

The same outlet says that Gianluca Scamacca - who cost £35.5m when West Ham signed the forward from Sassuolo last summer - is a loan target of Roma.

Manuel Lanzini is in line to depart at the end of his contract, while the likes of Vladimir Coufal, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell are also currently only on terms until the end of the month as it stands.
