Michail Antonio 'facing one month on sidelines through injury'

West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio will reportedly be on the sidelines for the next month with a hamstring injury.

West Ham United attacker Michail Antonio will reportedly be on the sidelines for the next month with the hamstring injury that he picked up against Manchester City last weekend.

The 30-year-old scored his third Premier League goal of the campaign against Pep Guardiola's side but was then forced off early in the second half after over-stretching his hamstring during a sprint.

The Englishman was initially expected to shake off the issue for Saturday's clash with Liverpool, but according to talkSPORT, scans have revealed that the injury is worse than first feared.

The report claims that Antonio will now be on the sidelines for the next month, meaning that he could miss West Ham's next four Premier League fixtures against Liverpool, Fulham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa.

The former non-league attacker was in excellent form for David Moyes's in the latter stages of the 2019-20 Premier League season, scoring eight times in his team's last seven matches of the campaign.

Sebastian Haller could now get the nod through the middle against Liverpool, although Jarrod Bowen and Andriy Yarmolenko are also options in that area of the field.
