Dave Edwards hopeful of making Wales squad for Euro 2016

Midfielder Dave Edwards says that he is hopeful of returning to action before the end of the season as he looks to earn a place in the Wales squad for Euro 2016.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Dave Edwards has said that he feels on course to make a return for the Championship club before the end of the season.

Edwards has been sidelined with a broken foot since the turn of the year, but as he targets a place in Wales's squad for Euro 2016, he is eager to get some minutes under his belt in order to give himself the best chance of being selected by Chris Coleman.

The 30-year-old told BBC Sport: "I'm still doing well and hoping to be be back to play a part before the end of the season.

"Hopefully I can play a few games and then be selected for the Euros. It's a tough ask but I'm hoping to be involved. It would be great for me and my family.

"It has been an amazing campaign. It's great to have been part of that journey and it would be great to top it off by getting in that squad."

Edwards has made 31 appearances for Wales since making his debut in 2007.
