Howard: Saves record 'does not matter'

USA goalkeeper Tim Howard has admitted that his World Cup record for saves in a match means little to him considering their elimination at the hands of Belgium.

The Americans saw their run at Brazil 2014 ended courtesy of an <a href="/football/belgium/world-cup/result/result-belgium-edge-past-the-usa-in-extra-time_162847.html">extra-time defeat</a> to Marc Wilmots's side on Tuesday, despite Howard making 15 saves in the game.

However, the Everton shot-stopper claims that the achievement is irrelevant because of the result, adding that the US are proud of their performance but 'fell short of their dream'.
