Swansea City to move for Ryan Giggs if Francesco Guidolin gets sacked?

Swansea City will reportedly move for Ryan Giggs in the event that current manager Francesco Guidolin is sacked.

Swansea City will reportedly approach Ryan Giggs should they opt to sack current manager Francesco Guidolin following a run of unwelcome results.

Since the team's opening-day win over Burnley in the Premier League, three defeats and one draw have followed.

The Swans were also knocked out of the EFL Cup by Manchester City in the third round last night.

As well as a lack of wins, questions have been raised about the atmosphere in the dressing room after Ki Sung-Yueng and Neil Taylor recently reacted angrily to being substituted.

According to ESPN, the Swansea hierarchy have placed Giggs at the top of their wanted list in the event that the manager's position becomes vacant.

Giggs has spent his entire career at Manchester United, more recently working as assistant coach to David Moyes and later Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

The former Wales international decided to go it alone in the world of management this summer when he turned down a role at United after it was made clear that Rui Faria would be Jose Mourinho's number two.

The report claims that Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is an admirer of Giggs, who is currently looking for his first break in management.
