Tottenham Hotspur cool their interest in Norwich City defender Max Aarons, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly 'cooled' their interest in Norwich City defender Max Aarons.

The 20-year-old, who has only missed two Premier League matches this season, had seemingly emerged as a leading transfer target for Spurs as the capital outfit looked for a new right-back.

However, according to the Daily Mail, head coach Jose Mourinho would rather sign a more physical full-back, meaning that any potential move for Aarons is currently on hold.

The Tottenham manager bemoaned his side's lack of physicality following Saturday's goalless draw with Watford, where he also mentioned that Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko were big misses due to their power.

Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters continue to be linked with moves away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while the club are already short at right-back having failed to replace Kieran Trippier last summer.

Spurs are believed to have made a bid for Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, though, as they look to beat the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to the Frenchman's signature.
