Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to make a profit on Joe Rodon's sale when he returns from his loan spell with Leeds United.

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly make a profit on defender Joe Rodon in the summer transfer window.

Rodon has been unable to establish himself in the Tottenham side after joining the club from Swansea City in October 2020.

The Welshman made just 24 appearances across two seasons, before he was allowed to join Rennes for the 2022-23 campaign.

After featuring in 22 matches for the French club, Rodon was sent back out on loan last summer, joining Championship side Leeds United on a temporary deal until the end of the season.

The centre-back has gone on to play a key role in Leeds' promotion bid, starting 34 league matches for a team that currently sits top of the Championship table.

Daniel Farke's side currently boasts the best defensive record in the division, having conceded just 28 goals in 38 league games.

While Rodon will be focused on helping Leeds earn promotion, there is uncertainty surrounding his future beyond the end of the season.

According to football.london, Tottenham are hopeful that they can make a profit on Rodon's sale in the summer transfer window.

Despite impressing for Leeds this season, Spurs are expected to part ways with the Wales international ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

However, the North London club feel that Rodon's form in the Championship will enable them to set his asking price at £20m, which represents a small mark-up on the £15m when Spurs signed him from Swansea in 2021.

With Rodon's contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, the upcoming transfer window presents Spurs with one final opportunity to command a considerable transfer fee.

Should they agree a sale, Tottenham would then put the funds towards helping Ange Postecoglou strengthen his squad for next season.

Rodon helped Wales keep their hopes of reaching Euro 2024 alive, playing the full duration of Thursday's 4-1 win over Finland in the qualifying playoff semi-final.

The defender is expected to keep his place in Rob Page's side for Tuesday's playoff final against Poland at the Cardiff City Stadium.
