Jan Vertonghen insists that he has no desire to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Jan Vertonghen has made it clear that he does not want to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and believes that playing under Mauricio Pochettino serves as his best option.

A one-year extension clause on Vertonghen's existing contract was triggered by Spurs in late 2018, keeping the Belgian at the club until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, who are also entering the final year of their contracts at Spurs, have been linked with moves away from the club this summer.

However, Vertonghen has made it clear that he is staying put, telling the Evening Standard: "I've got a year left, I will have to see what happens.

"I love being here. I feel great with the manager, he's been supporting me and making me a better player. I've got everything I want. It's the best club to play for at the moment."

Spurs have already lost a key defender in this window, with Kieran Trippier completing a £20m move to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Pochettino's side are currently in Singapore for a pre-season meeting with Juventus - their first outing since the Champions League final.
