Tottenham Hotspur striker Dane Scarlett joins League One side Portsmouth on loan for the 2022-23 season.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Dane Scarlett has secured a loan move to Portsmouth for the 2022-23 season.

The 18-year-old - who won the Under-19 European Championships with England earlier this summer - was presented with fleeting opportunities under Antonio Conte last term and signed a new contract with the club until 2026 earlier this year.

Scarlett was expected to be sent out on loan after penning his new long-term deal at Spurs, and the striker will ply his trade in League One for the upcoming campaign.

The teenager made his debut for Spurs in the Europa League against Ludogorets aged just 16 years and 247 days in November 2020, which made him the club's youngest-ever player before his record was broken by Alfie Devine.

Scarlett has scored 23 goals in as many matches for the Lilywhites' Under-18s and has now made 10 appearances for the first team - contributing one assist - but his 2021-22 season was derailed by injury.

As well as Scarlett, Troy Parrott and Alfie Whiteman have also been loaned out to Preston North End and Degerfors respectively from Spurs this summer.
