Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is reportedly set to leave Los Blancos this summer, but a move to the Premier League will supposedly be hindered by a huge wage bill.

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is reportedly set to leave Los Blancos this summer, but the Welshman's hefty wage bill means that a return to the Premier League is highly unlikely.

The 30-year-old joined Zinedine Zidane's side from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and has gone on to score 105 goals in 249 games for Los Blancos.

However, Bale has since fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu in recent times, and according to AS, the winger is set to leave Spain in the near future.

The Wales international has been linked with a return to the Lilywhites recently, but the report claims that his supposed £13.4m salary would make a return to England's top flight impossible.

As a result, the MLS is said to be Bale's most likely destination, although he was reportedly close to joining Chinese Super League side Jiungsu Suning last summer before the deal fell through.

The former Spurs player will see his current deal with Madrid expire in 2022.
