Goalkeeper Matt Gilks earns Scotland call-up

Matt Gilks receives a call-up to the Scotland squad for the fixtures with Georgia and Poland.

Burnley goalkeeper Matt Gilks has been called up by Scotland for the European Championship qualifiers against Georgia and Poland.

The 32-year-old will replace Allan McGregor, who withdrew from the squad on Thursday with a shoulder injury.

Gilks, who has been kept out of the Burnley side by former Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton this season, recently lost his place in the Scotland squad to Celtic's Craig Gordon.

Despite being born in England, Gilks qualifies for Scotland and was first called up in August 2010, making his international debut two years later.

Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall started in Scotland's opening qualifier, a 2-1 defeat against world champions Germany.
