Roma reportedly want Jose Mourinho to become their new head coach heading into the new campaign.

Roma reportedly want Jose Mourinho to become their new head coach ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Mourinho has been without a position since being sacked by Manchester United in the latter stages of 2018.

The Portuguese has been doing punditry over the last few months, but it is understood that the 56-year-old is keen to return to management next season.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have both been linked with Mourinho, but according to Sky Italia, Roma have approached the experienced head coach over a return to Serie A.

The Italian giants sacked Eusebio Di Francesco last month after exiting the Champions League, with Claudio Ranieri currently leading the team until the end of the season.

Mourinho won two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and the Champions League during his time in charge of Roma's domestic rivals Inter Milan.
