Real Madrid and Brazil pair Rodrygo and Eder Militao reportedly agree to new six-year deals at the Bernabeu with release clauses of €1bn (£860m).

Real Madrid duo Eder Militao and Rodrygo have reportedly agreed to new long-term deals with the Spanish giants.

Twenty-one-year-old Rodrygo arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu for a £45m fee from Santos in the summer of 2019 and has played his part in some crucial goals for Carlo Ancelotti's side in recent months.

Rodrygo scored nine goals and set up 10 more in 49 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions last season, helping the capital giants complete a La Liga and Champions League double.

The Brazil international hit five goals en route to the Champions League crown, coming off the bench to take the quarter-final second leg with Chelsea to extra time with a well-taken volley.

Rodrygo was then introduced as a substitute against Manchester City and struck twice to force an extra 30 minutes, although he only came on for the last minute of the final against Liverpool.

Upon his arrival at the Bernabeu, Rodrygo agreed a long-term contract until the summer of 2025, and he has therefore remained on the same terms he signed as an 18-year-old in 2019.

However, Marca claims that the attacker has now said yes to a new deal until the end of the 2027-28 season and can expect a 'significant' salary increase as part of the fresh terms.

The report adds that an official announcement of Rodrygo's new contract will likely come next week once he signs the paper, and a €1bn (£860m) release clause will be included.

Rodrygo was briefly linked with a surprise move to Liverpool as a replacement for Sadio Mane, but the former Santos starlet has now committed his future to the European champions.

A separate report from Marca states that Rodrygo's compatriot Militao has also extended his stay at the Bernabeu for another six years with an identical €1bn (£860m) release clause.

Militao and David Alaba formed an effective partnership at the back for Ancelotti following Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos's departures, with the former making 50 appearances in all tournaments last season.

The former Porto man scored twice and registered three assists for Ancelotti's men and started 12 Champions League matches, only missing the quarter-final second leg with Chelsea through suspension.

Militao was also due to become a free agent in the summer of 2025, and the centre-back will be one of several Blancos mainstays set to extend their deals with the club this summer.

Luka Modric is already confirmed to be staying on for at least one more season, while Vinicius Junior is also on the brink of signing a new long-term contract in Madrid.

Los Blancos are also said to be planning talks over the futures of Andriy Lunin, Thibaut Courtois, Federico Valverde and Karim Benzema ahead of the 2022-23 season.
