Sports Mole takes a look at the situations surrounding the seven Real Madrid players who will be out of contract next June.

Real Madrid have seven first-team players out of contract next summer, including three individuals who remain key figures for the European and Spanish champions.

Karim Benzema has still not signed a contract extension with Los Blancos, meaning that, as it stands, the 34-year-old will leave the club on a free transfer next June.

In truth, that is hugely unlikely, with the France international widely expected to sign a new deal until June 2024 following the completion of the World Cup.

Benzema has found it difficult to show his best form this season, largely due to injury, with the forward only on six goals and one assist from 12 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.

The Frenchman's future is not thought to be the subject of any panic, but there is uncertainty surrounding Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Both players remain key figures for Los Blancos, but Kroos's future is far from secure, with the German yet to decide whether he will be signing an extension.

Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the 32-year-old, but the midfielder previously said that he wanted to "retire" at Real Madrid, suggesting that he would hang up his boots if he did not pen a new deal.

Marco Asensio also only has a deal until the end of June, and it was widely thought that the 26-year-old would be leaving the club next year in search of pastures new.

However, the Spain international has been more involved for Carlo Ancelotti's side in recent matches, and it is believed that he is now set to pen a new contract in the Spanish capital.

Asensio has made 15 appearances for Los Blancos this term, scoring three times and contributing three assists, including a goal against Celtic in the team's last Champions League group-stage fixture.

Benzema and Asensio are in line for new deals, but it is unclear whether Kroos and Modric will be staying, with the latter set to turn 38 towards the end of next year.

Modric has not been showing his age, though, with the Croatian making 18 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring five times and contributing two assists.

Elsewhere, Dani Ceballos is also out of contract at the end of the season, and the midfielder could be allowed to leave Bernabeu in search of regular action.

The 26-year-old has actually made 11 appearances for Ancelotti's side this term, which is an impressive number considering that he was unavailable for a period due to injury.

Ceballos has been a useful squad member for Real Madrid this term, and while an exit is likely, it would not be a shock to see him kept on if he is prepared to accept a back-up role.

Mariano Diaz will also soon enter the final six months of his contract, and it is highly unlikely that the forward will be signing an extension with the capital giants.

The 29-year-old has only made five appearances this season, totalling just 20 minutes in his four La Liga outings, and he is far down the pecking order when it comes to spots in the final third of the field.

Nacho is the final player on this list, and there is currently widespread speculation surrounding the Spaniard, with a number of MLS and European sides said to be keeping an eye on his situation.

A recent report claimed that the 32-year-old is desperate to stay at Real Madrid, and he has also been a regular this term, making 11 appearances in all competitions.

Los Blancos boosted their defence over the summer with the arrival of Antonio Rudiger, but Nacho's ability to play as both a full-back and centre-back make him a vital squad member.
