A report claims that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is interested in bringing Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti back to the Spanish capital.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly being considered by Real Madrid as a replacement for Zinedine Zidane.

Los Blancos are on the lookout for a new head coach after parting ways with Zidane last week following their first trophyless campaign since 2009-10.

Iconic former player Raul has been installed as the favourite to take over at the Bernabeu, while Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte and Xabi Alonso are also being considered.

However, Spanish outlet Cadena SER suggests that Ancelotti is an outside contender to take charge, with president Florentino Perez having already reached out to the Italian.

Ancelotti managed Madrid for two years before departing in 2015, winning the Champions League, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana and a Club World Cup during that spell.

The 61-year-old finished 10th in his first full campaign at Goodison Park and recently hinted that he is prepared to stay for the long term.
