Real Madrid's Marcelo pleased with form

Real Madrid defender Marcelo is pleased with his current form after enduring a shaky start to the season.

Real Madrid defender Marcelo believes that he is now in his best shape of the season.

The left-back was criticised for some below-par performances in the early part of the campaign, but the Brazilian feels that he has been in fine form in recent weeks.

"I've been playing some matches lately and it's got me in good shape," Marcelo told AS.

"Apart from the confidence I get, it puts me in good shape physically. We're going well. We need to improve some little things, like every team, but our form is good.

"We must take advantage of that and enjoy it. That's the goal, what the coach asks of us."

Marcelo helped his side beat Barcelona 3-1 in El Clasico last night.
