QPR boss Chris Ramsey not tempted to join Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa

QPR boss Chris Ramsey says that he was not tempted to reunite with Tim Sherwood as part of his backroom staff at Aston Villa.

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey has revealed that he was not tempted to team up with Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa.

Sherwood was an early favourite to replace Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road, with many suggesting that he would reunite with former Tottenham Hotspur colleagues Ramsey and Les Ferdinand.

However, the 46-year-old opted to join Aston Villa instead, while Ramsey has been named QPR manager until the end of the season.

When asked in this morning's press conference if he was tempted to join up with Sherwood at Villa, Ramsey said: "Not really, because Les Ferdinand has shown a lot of faith in me in giving me this opportunity here.

"You do get torn because Tim and I worked together for the last five years in developing something at Tottenham and it would have been nice for us to all stay together, but football is not like that, and I'm sure Tim understands I have job in my own right at the moment.

"I just hope he can keep Villa up and I keep QPR up - we'd take that. I really hope things work out for him at Aston Villa."

Ferdinand was promoted to QPR's director of football earlier this month.
