Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Monaco

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Monaco.

Montpellier vs. Rennes (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Fresh from a memorable victory at title challengers Lyon, Montpellier HSC will be aiming to continue their revival against an out-of-sorts Rennes on Saturday lunchtime.

The hosts have won their last three in a row across all competitions, whereas Rennes are hoping to avoid a fifth game without victory in the top flight.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-1 Rennes

The last thing that Der Zakarian needed amid his side's revival was another injury to star man Delort, and 18-year-old Wahi has some big boots to fill during the Algerian's absence. Rennes will be aware of Montpellier's defensive frailties at home but are hardly in good form themselves, although we still expect the visitors to do enough for a point at the Stade de la Mosson.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Lens vs. Dijon (Sunday, 2.00pm)

A team widely expected to be fighting relegation this season faces Ligue 1's basement boys this Sunday afternoon as Lens welcome Dijon to the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Franck Haise's side played out their third top-flight draw in a row against Reims last time out, while Dijon's losing run continued against 19th-placed Nimes.

We say: Lens 2-0 Dijon

Dijon's abysmal losing run must end at some point if they are to ignite a late charge for survival, but their chances of victory this weekend are extremely slim. Lens are not exactly a force to be reckoned with at home, but Sang et Or are in good shape fitness-wise and could break into the top five if other results go their way, so a win for the hosts is the only outcome that we can see.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Nice vs. Metz (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Nice take on Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with the hosts able to move within three points of their forthcoming opponents in the table with a victory.

Both sides have lost two consecutive games in the league so will view this fixture as an opportunity to get their season back on track.

We say: Nice 1-1 Metz

We can envisage a draw between two well-matched teams on Sunday.

Neither side are likely to play with much confidence after disappointing defeats in recent weeks, so may be happy to come out of the game unscathed.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Nimes vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Bordeaux will be out to end a four-game winless streak in Ligue 1 when they travel to relegation-threatened Nimes for Sunday's top-flight showdown.

The hosts ended their own barren run with a 2-0 victory over Dijon last time out, whereas Bordeaux held Marseille to a goalless stalemate.

We say: Nimes 1-2 Bordeaux

Bordeaux will hardly get a better opportunity to rediscover their goalscoring touch than against the league's leakiest defence, although the early signs for Nimes under Plancque are relatively promising. Les Girondins cannot go into this fixture expecting an easy three points, and the hosts could give them a good run for their money, but we still expect Gasset's men to claim a long-awaited triumph.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Strasbourg vs. Angers (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Strasbourg take on Angers in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with the hosts able to move to within three points of their forthcoming opponents in the table with a victory.

Angers have failed to win any of their last three league matches, with Strasbourg moving away from danger with a crucial three points last weekend.

We say: Strasbourg 2-1 Angers

We expect Strasbourg to beat Angers, with the hosts boasting much better offensive quality at present.

Angers simply do not look like a particularly good side at the moment, with a defeat here likely to see them drop into the bottom half.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Lorient vs. Lille (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Lorient will somehow attempt to continue their unforeseen revival in Ligue 1 this Sunday when they welcome second-placed Lille to the Stade du Moustoir.

The hosts managed to take a point from their clash with Monaco last time out, whereas Lille go into this game following an agonising Europa League defeat to Ajax.

We say: Lorient 1-1 Lille

Lille have not exactly been blowing teams away recently despite their strong form, and it is very difficult to back against Lorient amid their hugely impressive turnaround. The hosts will be well-rested, unlike Lille, who are sure to be fatigued and still lamenting their late defeat to Ajax, so we can see Lorient's unbeaten streak lasting a little while longer with a hard-fought draw on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

PSG vs. Monaco (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Third meets fourth in a tantalising showdown between two Ligue 1 title rivals as Paris Saint-Germain welcome Monaco to the Parc des Princes on Sunday evening.

The hosts warmed up for this game with a 4-1 thrashing of Barcelona in the Champions League, while Monaco only just salvaged a draw against Lorient last time out.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Monaco

We are witnessing a clash not only between two of France's most successful and in-form sides, but also between two of the league's most prolific forwards in Mbappe and Ben Yedder. There are plenty of goals to be had in this game and Monaco can feel optimistic about their chances of notching up more than one - despite the hosts' remarkable defensive record - but a Mbappe-inspired PSG should have the firepower necessary to avenge November's defeat and come up trumps here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
