Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch announces that the club may have to cut more staff in order to meet the conditions of Portpin.

Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch has confirmed that the newly-demoted League One outfit could face additional redundancies.

The former Championship club, who fell into administration for the second time in as many years in February, have been forced to make more cuts following Portpin's agreement to take over the club on the condition that the wage bill is reduced.

"Under the terms of the Company Voluntary Arrangement that was agreed with creditors, Portpin agreed to complete its purchase of the club on the condition that the wage bill was reduced through player sales and compromise agreements," said Birch.

"We have made progress in this respect over the past few weeks but there is still more that needs to be done if the club is to meet the pre-conditions for Portpin's purchase."

Pompey were forced to cut 30 staff when they dropped into administration earlier this year.
