Today's key events
Man City 'handed major boost as Barcelona switch top transfer target'
Manchester City have reportedly been handed a major boost in their efforts to keep one of their fundamental cogs at the club during the summer transfer window.
For the past couple of years, Bernardo Silva's desire to leave the Etihad and move closer to his native Portugal has been no secret, but he has remained loyal to the Premier League champions for seven years now.
The 29-year-old even signed a new contract with the Citizens last year to run until the summer of 2026, and he has contributed 11 goals and eight assists from 46 matches in all tournaments this season.
However, Silva has still been persistently linked with a departure from the treble winners, and Barcelona boss Xavi has supposedly pleaded with the 2022-23 La Liga champions to make a move this summer.
Chelsea 'will listen to offers for 29-year-old attacker this summer'
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to entertain offers for one of their experienced attackers in the summer transfer window.
Twenty-nine-year-old Raheem Sterling has failed to hit the same heights at Stamford Bridge as he did with Manchester City, and he has become a bit-part player for Mauricio Pochettino in recent times.
Sterling made an encouraging start to the season and boasts a respectable nine goals and eight assists from 41 games this season, including a strike in Saturday's thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
However, the ex-Liverpool man's thunder has been stolen by Cole Palmer this season, while Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk have been preferred in the wide areas by Pochettino over the past few weeks.
Tottenham to rival Man City for Crystal Palace star?
Tottenham Hotspur are apparently preparing to rival Manchester City for the services of one of the jewels in the Crystal Palace crown this summer.
Alongside exciting Frenchman Michael Olise, England international Eberechi Eze has enjoyed another stellar campaign on the Selhurst Park books, having a direct hand in 14 goals in 30 games.
Eze has struck nine goals of his own in addition to providing five assists, coming up with all of those strikes in 26 Premier League appearances and forcing his way into the England squad on account of his progress.
The 25-year-old made his first two appearances for the Three Lions in 2023, and he could be a dark horse for a Euro 2024 call-up amid Palace's brilliant end to the season.
Arsenal 'identify three priorities for summer transfer window'
Arsenal have reportedly earmarked the three priority areas for strengthening in this summer's transfer window.
Another sustained period of progression under Mikel Arteta has seen the Gunners push Manchester City all the way in the title race, which will go down until the final day of the season.
Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table by virtue of a 1-0 success over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, where Leandro Trossard struck the only goal of the game at Old Trafford.
Consequently, Arteta's troops are one point clear of Man City having played a game more, but beating Everton on the final day will not be enough if the champions win their last two matches.
Real Madrid 'begin work on signing Bayer Leverkusen star'
Real Madrid have reportedly set the wheels in motion to sign one of the stars of Bayer Leverkusen's marvellous 2023-24 season.
Already crowned champions of the Bundesliga, Xabi Alonso's unbeaten troops are pursuing a terrific treble and will also compete in the Europa League and DFB-Pokal finals in a few weeks' time.
Integral to Die Werkself's incredible success this season has been the highly-rated playmaker Florian Wirtz, the 21-year-old who has had a direct hand in 37 goals in 46 matches this season.
Wirtz has struck 18 goals of his own in addition to providing 19 assists, and he has hit double figures in both metrics for the Bundesliga season, netting 11 times and setting up 11 more.
Loanee hints at desire to remain at Chelsea next season
David Datro Fofana has indicated that he would like to start next season at Chelsea, rather than go back out on loan.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge at the start of 2023, the forward has found game time for the Blues hard to come by with just one start and three substitute outings coming in all competitions.
The summer acquisitions of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, combined with Armando Broja remaining at the club, inevitably led to Fofana going out on loan.
An unproductive stint with Union Berlin, where the 21-year-old scored just twice in 17 matches, led to a recall in January before being allowed to make the switch to Burnley.
Bayern Munich 'plotting £60m move for Crystal Palace star'
Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton this summer.
The 20-year-old has quickly established himself as a first-team star for the Eagles since completing his £22.5m transfer from Blackburn Rovers in January.
Wharton spent just 18 months in the first team at Blackburn before moving to the Premier League with Palace, where he has started 14 of his 15 appearances in the top flight, registering three assists.
Operating as a deep-lying playmaker, Wharton has received penalty of plaudits for his performances at Palace since the turn of the year, including a man-of-the-match display in a memorable 1-0 victory at Liverpool last month.
Van de Beek's agent confirms plan for summer market
Donny van de Beek's agent Guido Albers has confirmed that his client will be leaving Manchester United during this summer's transfer window, but a move to another Premier League club is not an option.
The Netherlands international is currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, and the club have the opportunity to make it a permanent switch at the end of the season.
Albers has revealed that Frankfurt will not be taking up that option, while a return to former club Ajax has been ruled out, but Van de Beek will leave Man United this summer in a bid to reignite his career.
The 27-year-old made the move to Old Trafford from Ajax in the summer of 2020, and he has represented the Red Devils on 62 occasions in all competitions, scoring twice and providing two assists.
Xavi addresses Ansu Fati's future at Barcelona
Barcelona head coach Xavi refused to offer any guarantees over the future of Ansu Fati when questioned on the Spain international during his press conference on Sunday.
Fati, 21, joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan from Barcelona last summer, and he has made 25 appearances for the Seagulls this season, scoring four goals and registering one assist in the process.
The forward is due to return to Camp Nou at the end of the campaign, and there has been speculation surrounding his future, with Barcelona thought to be open to a permanent sale.
Xavi said that Fati's chances of making the squad for 2024-25 will "depend on the end of the season", with the Catalan outfit's financial issues meaning that it will again be a tricky transfer market to navigate.
Liverpool star appears to rule out summer move amid exit talk
Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has said that he is "very happy" at Anfield amid suggestions of a potential summer departure for the Colombia international.
The 27-year-old has again been an important player for the Reds during the 2023-24 campaign, making 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in the process.
Diaz has another three years left to run on his contract at Anfield, but there have recently been claims that he could be on the move during the upcoming market.
Barcelona are believed to be one of a number of clubs to have expressed an interest in the South American.
"100% staying" - Barcelona star's agent rules out summer exit
The agent of Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has insisted that the Poland international will remain at Camp Nou this summer, branding the speculation surrounding his future "fake news".
Lewandowski, 35, has again been in strong form for the Catalan giants during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 24 goals and registering nine assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
The experienced forward has a contract with the Catalan side until June 2026, with the option of a further 12 months, but there have recently been claims that he could depart this summer.
Barcelona boss Xavi refused to rule out a departure for the striker when questioned on the subject earlier this month, claiming that a decision would be made "at the end of the season".
Man Utd 'preparing to revive move for Barcelona star'
Manchester United are reportedly planning to make another move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong during this summer's transfer window.
The Red Devils pursued De Jong during the summer of 2022, with Erik ten Hag, who was in his first transfer market as head coach of the English giants, identifying the Netherlands international as his leading target.
Barcelona are believed to have expressed a willingness to do business with Man United, but the midfielder insisted on multiple occasions that he was not interested in a transfer.
De Jong has again been an important player for Xavi's side this season despite some injury problems, making 30 appearances in all competitions, and he has another two years left to run on his current deal.
Barcelona 'priced out of move for Man Utd forward'
Barcelona have reportedly been priced out of a summer move for Mason Greenwood, with Manchester United demanding €60m (£51.9m) for his signature during the upcoming market.
The 22-year-old has impressed on loan at Getafe during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
As it stands, Greenwood will return to his parent club this summer, but it is understood that there is no future for him at Old Trafford despite recent comments from Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Man United's new minority shareholder recently suggested that there could be a route for the Englishman back into the first team next season, but it is still believed to be highly unlikely that he will play for the club again.
