Robert Snodgrass: Chris Hughton is a "great man"

Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass says that former manager Chris Hughton is a "great man".

Robert Snodgrass has described Chris Hughton as a "great man" ahead of Norwich City's first match since the manager's dismissal.

The former Republic of Ireland international was sacked on Sunday following the team's 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, which leaves the Canaries just one place above the relegation zone.

The winger told Sky Sports News: "He is a great man and everyone in the game respects him as a gentleman. He brought me here and gave me my chance.

"He has been involved in the game for 30 or 40 years so he knows exactly the way the game goes. I think the press create an atmosphere and Chris was under a little bit of pressure.

"As a footballer you need to go in and do your job, no matter who is in charge. You need to have that fire and burning desire inside to win a football match. Neil Adams is the manager now and everybody is right behind him."

Norwich face Fulham at Craven Cottage tomorrow afternoon.
