Peter Jackson stands down as manager of Bradford City.

Peter Jackson has quit his job as manager of League Two side Bradford City.

The 50-year-old was appointed the Bantams permanent boss in May this after a three-month interim spell in charge.

However, after a run of three straight defeats Jackson has decided to hand in his resignation at Valley Parade.

"Peter told the board that in light of the poor start to the season, he felt that to resign now would give the club the best possible chance for the rest of the season," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The board would like to thank Peter for his hard work in keeping the club in the Football League last season, and wish him well in his future endeavours."

Next up for Bradford is a home fixture against Barnet on Saturday.
