Newcastle United are reportedly showing interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, who was on the radar of the Magpies in January and will now be a free agent.

Newcastle United have reportedly reignited their interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, who is heavily linked with a move away from Glasgow.

Ntcham spent the second half of this season on loan to French side Marseille but failed to make an impact, only making four appearances in Ligue 1.

Steve Bruce is believed to want a goalscoring midfielder at St James' Park, and Ntcham has scored 24 goals in the four seasons he has spent at Celtic Park.

Football Insider reports that the Scottish giants have decided to terminate the Frenchman's contract a season early and therefore Ntcham will become a free agent this summer.

The midfielder is valued at £4.5m but now price will not be a barrier for any club interested in his signature, with Newcastle being a longer-term admirer of Ntcham, after the Magpies were interested in the player in January.

The 25-year-old has won three Scottish Premiership titles during his time with Celtic, making 147 appearances for the Hoops.
