Vince McMahon linked with Newcastle United takeover

WWE chairman Vince McMahon is reportedly interested in buying Premier League club Newcastle United from owner Mike Ashley.

Newcastle United could reportedly become the target of a takeover bid from WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

It is being reported that current owner Mike Ashley could be keen to sell the Premier League outfit, and according to Winnersports.co.uk, the Londoner may be receiving an offer from the American billionaire.

A source is quoted as telling the website: "Vince McMahon has been sniffing around the club and seems keen on pursuing his interest."

Ashley bought a controlling stake in the Magpies in 2007, but has frequently faced backlash from the club's supporters over a series of controversial decisions during his seven-year spell on Tyneside.
