Saturday's Championship predictions including Millwall vs. Brentford

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship action, including the London derby between Millwall and Brentford.

Watford vs. Luton (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Watford will be looking to bounce back from their midweek cup disappointment when they take on a Luton Town side boasting a perfect start to the Championship season.

The Hatters have won two games from two and are third in the table on goal difference, two points better off than opponents Watford after a mixed start for Vladimir Ivic.

We say: Watford 2-0 Luton Town

Luton may have collected more points than Watford in their opening two fixtures, but the Hornets boast one of the finest squads in the division - even more so now that Sarr and Deeney are back - and should have enough quality to end their opponents' winning start.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Wycombe vs. Swansea (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Swansea City make the long trip to Adams Park to face Wycombe Wanderers looking to extend their unbeaten start in the Championship to three matches.

Meanwhile, after defeats to Rotherham United and Blackburn Rovers, last season's League One playoff winners are still searching for their first goal and point in the second tier.

We say: Wycombe Wanderers 1-2 Swansea City

With Wycombe behind Swansea in every department heading into this contest, the visitors are the clear favourites to emerge victorious. However, with the Welsh side not firing on all cylinders in the final third, do not be surprised if they have to work hard for the win.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Barnsley vs. Coventry (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Barnsley play host to Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon having lost both of their opening matches in the second tier.

The visitors, who won League One last season, got off the mark with a dramatic 3-2 triumph against Queens Park Rangers last week.

We say: Barnsley 1-1 Coventry City

With both teams viewing each other as potential rivals during the closing weeks of the season, we expect a hard-fought tussle at Oakwell. Providing that the Tykes can mentally recover from their defeat at Chelsea, a low-scoring draw is the most likely result here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Birmingham vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Birmingham City manager Aitor Karanka pictured on September 12, 2020© Reuters

Birmingham City welcome Rotherham United to St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon looking to build on their unbeaten start to the Championship campaign.

The visitors make the trip to the West Midlands having also enjoyed a solid opening to the season, recording three points from their first two matches.

We say: Birmingham City 2-1 Rotherham United

While Karanka is placing priority on ensuring that his side are solid defensively, there will be certain games this season where they have to show a greater attacking intent. This fixture is one of those occasions, and we feel that Blues will be able to prevail by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Cardiff vs. Reading (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship pacesetters Reading will be aiming to extend their winning start to the season when they travel to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

The Royals have picked up maximum points from their first two matches to top the pile, while Cardiff have made a mixed start to the campaign with three points from six.

We say: Cardiff City 1-1 Reading

Reading have made an impressive start to their campaign by winning three games out of four in all competitions. Cardiff looked a lot better in their most recent outing and are expected to challenge for promotion this term, but they are winless in nine against the Royals and may have to settle for a point this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Derby vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Derby County welcome Blackburn Rovers to Pride Park on Saturday afternoon on the back of three successive defeats in all competitions, setbacks which have heaped the pressure on Philip Cocu.

Meanwhile, Rovers make the visit to the East Midlands on the back of a 5-0 demolition of second-tier newcomers Wycombe Wanderers.

We say: Derby County 1-2 Blackburn Rovers

Given his side's recent performances and results, Cocu has little option but to put more emphasis on attack. Nevertheless, that may not necessarily lead to a change in fortunes, especially against opponents who have not been short of goals.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Millwall vs. Brentford (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Brentford manager Thomas Frank pictured on September 16, 2020© Reuters

Millwall and Brentford contest their London derby on Saturday afternoon having both gotten off to a solid start in the Championship.

While the home side have recorded four points from their opening two fixtures, last season's playoff runners-up have posted one win and one defeat.

We say: Millwall 1-2 Brentford

While Millwall have looked strong at the back in their opening two matches, we cannot ignore that Brentford are beginning to click into gear in the final third. Although little may separate the teams come the final whistle, the Bees could prevail by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Preston vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Stoke City manager Michael O'Neill pictured on July 4, 2020© Reuters

Preston North End and Stoke City square off at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon with each having failed to win their opening two fixtures in the Championship.

The home side's solitary point came away at Norwich City last weekend, while the Potters only have a goalless draw at Millwall to show for their efforts.

We say: Preston North End 1-1 Stoke City

Although both teams will be eager to get maximum points on the board, there is little which suggests that there will be many goals in this game. Both teams will make the running at various points in the contest, but that could only result in a share of the spoils come the full-time whistle.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

QPR vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Middlesbrough's search for their first Championship victory of the 2020-21 campaign will continue on Saturday afternoon when they head to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers.

Boro have only picked up a point from their first two league games of the season to sit 17th in the table, while QPR have collected three points from their two fixtures thus far courtesy of one win and one defeat.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Middlesbrough

The two teams shared the points in the corresponding match during the 2019-20 Championship season, and we fancy another draw here. Boro will be keen to put their first victory on the board as soon as possible, but QPR have more than enough to pick up a point at Loftus Road.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
