West Ham United are reportedly eager to secure a deal for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard before the start of the new Premier League campaign.

West Ham United are reportedly contemplating whether to meet Manchester United's asking price for Jesse Lingard.

The midfielder starred for the Hammers during the second half of last season, contributing nine goals and four assists to help his loan club qualify for the Europa League.

The 28-year-old's form at the London Stadium has left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a decision to make regarding his long-term future at Old Trafford.

According to Sky Sports News, the West Ham hierarchy are prepared to do whatever it takes to sign the England international on a permanent deal.

Despite Lingard having just one year remaining on his contract, the report suggests that United are ready to demand in the region of £30m.

West Ham will likely look to lower that fee with David Moyes keen to strengthen other areas of his squad to cope with a busier schedule.
