Sheffield United are reportedly monitoring the progress of Manchester United defender Will Fish, who is currently on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Will Fish during the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old is currently out on loan at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, making 26 appearances in the league, scoring once and providing one assist.

Fish gained invaluable experience in continental football during the early part of the campaign, playing two matches in the Europa Conference League against Unai Emery's Aston Villa.

The centre-back spent pre-season ahead of the 2023-24 term in Erik ten Hag's squad which travelled to North America, featuring in friendlies with Leeds United, Lyon and League Two outfit Wrexham.

According to HITC Football, Sheffield United have taken an interest in Fish ahead of the summer transfer window, when the Blades could be preparing for life back in the Championship.

With Chris Wilder failing to have the desired impact on results at Bramall Lane since replacing Paul Heckingbottom, United remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League standings, 11 points from 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

The report claims that Championship duo Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough are both keen on securing the services of Fish ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Ex-Manchester United player Kieran McKenna is aiming to achieve back-to-back promotions as the Tractor Boys coach, with the East Anglians currently level on points with second-placed Leeds in the second-tier table.

After losing the likes of Cameron Archer and leading marksman Chuba Akpom over the summer, Red Devils legend Michael Carrick is struggling to steer Middlesbrough towards the top six once again this term, with Boro languishing in 13th.

As well as the aforementioned pair, it is also believed that Hull City, Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and Stoke City are admirers of youngster Fish.

The 21-year-old is in the midst of his second loan stint at Easter Road, where Hibernian manager Nick Montgomery is hoping to sign the defender permanently.

Despite a recent takeover by wealthy American owners, Hibs face a huge challenge in retaining the services of Fish past the conclusion of this season due to a host of potential suitors in England.

Fish has only featured in one competitive fixture for Man United since graduating from the club's academy, coming on as a second-half substitute for Daniel James during a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in May 2021.
