Former Marseille player Samir Nasri has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to join the Ligue 1 club and link up with summer signing Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been told to join Marseille by former Arsenal player Samir Nasri.

The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after expressing a desire to play Champions League football this term.

While Ronaldo has been linked with a number of Europe's biggest clubs, several teams have ruled themselves out of signing the 37-year-old, including Marseille who recently stated they were not planning a move.

However, former Marseille man Nasri still wants the forward to join the Ligue 1 side, highlighting the potential of a frontline that could feature Alexis Sanchez and Ronaldo.

Taking to Canal+ Sport, Nasri said: "I have a solution for him. He can terminate his contract, they give him half his year and in Marseille they make an effort.

"They give him something and he comes to play in the Champions League, a Cristiano Ronaldo-Alexis Sanchez attack looks good."

Ronaldo continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but he has suggested that he will set the record straight in an upcoming interview.
