Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not prepared to make a bid for Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford after holding talks with the attacker's entourage.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not expected to make an official offer for Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford.

On Thursday evening, it was reported that the Ligue 1 champions had held discussions with the England international's entourage over a possible summer move.

Rashford struggled for form last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, ending the 2021-22 season with just five goals to his name from 32 appearances in all tournaments.

The 24-year-old hit just four goals in the Premier League in 25 outings and was tipped to head for the exit door earlier this summer, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

However, Rashford played the full 90 in Erik ten Hag's first Premier League game in charge against Brighton & Hove Albion as he seeks to reignite his stalling Old Trafford career.

Man United also possess the option to extend Rashford's stay until the summer of 2024, and according to Sky Sports News, PSG are not expected to make a bid for the attacker.

The report add that the Red Devils are 'relaxed' about the situation and have no intention to sell Rashford this summer, with Cristiano Ronaldo still pining for an exit and Anthony Martial dealing with a hamstring injury.

A separate report from The Mirror also states that Man United are now aiming to sit down and discuss a new contract with Rashford, who spoke of his desire to help Man United rise up the table in pre-season.

"For me it is a fresh start, something I am looking forward to. The first two and a half weeks of training has been good. We have improved a lot," Rashford told the press.

"The team is a lot fitter than last season and we have a lot of room for improvement. I am in a good place right now – looking forward to getting more games under my belt and getting ready for the season."

Rashford has banked a total of 93 goals and 57 assists in 303 outings for Man United in all tournaments, and PSG will now be forced to look elsewhere in their search for attacking reinforcements.

Despite already bringing in Hugo Ekitike on a season-long loan from Reims, Parisiens manager Christophe Galtier is keen to bolster his frontline further, telling a press conference: "Yes, we wish the arrival of a new striker. I repeat again, with a very busy calendar until November 13, plus the World Cup, obviously we wish this arrival.

"The club is working very hard. I repeat again that I am in direct contact with Luis Campos [PSG's football advisor] on this and that he is in direct contact with the management and our president. You mustn't make mistakes, you mustn't do anything, and then there are things that can be done and things that can't. Will this player make it? We have no guarantee on that.

"I know that the club will not take and pile up a player, it must be a real added value and the club is working in this direction. But whether by the end of the transfer window an offensive player will arrive I cannot confirm, but the club is working hard on this position."

Galtier also confirmed Arnaud Kalimuendo's move to Rennes, while the Ligue 1 champions are attempting to offload Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with the Red Devils.

Ekitike, Nordi Mukiele, Vitinha and Renato Sanches have already arrived at PSG this summer, and Galtier's side are also understood to be closing in on a deal for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
