Manchester United 'put off by £35m Max Aarons asking price'

Manchester United are put off by Norwich City's asking price of £35m for in-demand right-back Max Aarons, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly be forced to look elsewhere in their search for a new defender after being put off by Norwich City's asking price for Max Aarons.

Speculation over the 21-year-old's future has intensified in recent weeks, with Everton, Bayern Munich and Roma all credited with an interest in Daniel Farke's first-choice right-back.

With Norwich expected to make an immediate return to the Premier League for the 2021-22 season, the Canaries can play hardball over a fee for Aarons, who is under contract at Carrow Road until 2024.

Farke's side are rumoured to have slapped a £35m price tag on the head of the in-demand defender, and The Express reports that Man United would be reluctant to fork out such a high figure for Aarons.

Reinforcements in the defensive third are supposedly a priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward, and having missed out on Dayot Upamecano, they are expected to prioritise a move for Sevilla's Jules Kounde.

Aarons has registered one goal and three assists in 32 Championship appearances this term, with Norwich seven points clear at the top of the table.
