Manchester United reportedly block interim boss Ralf Rangnick from signing RB Leipzig's attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

Manchester United have reportedly blocked attempts from interim boss Ralf Rangnick to sign RB Leipzig's attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

The 24-year-old has been in fine for form for the Bundesliga outfit this season, scoring 19 goals and registering 13 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

Rangnick, who was key in recruiting Nkunku to Leipzig in 2019 during his time as their director of football, is now interested in luring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.

However, BILD journalist Christian Falk claims that United are unsure if they need a player like Nkunku and they will instead look to prioritise the signing of a "real striker" in the summer.

The report adds that the Red Devils discussed whether to move for Nkunku in January, following Mason Greenwood's suspension, but they eventually decided against a winter transfer.

Nkunku, who is under contract at Leipzig until June 2024, is believed to be attracting interest from other clubs including the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
