Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta plays down suggestions that Lautaro Martinez could be allowed to leave amid reported interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has played down suggestions that Lautaro Martinez could be allowed to leave the Italian giants.

Martinez, who has scored seven times in 14 appearances for Antonio Conte's side this season, has been linked with both Manchester United and Barcelona in recent days.

Last week, it was reported that Inter would be prepared to sell the 22-year-old in January should an offer in the region of £96m arrive.

However, Marotta has insisted that his club are not looking to sell their best players as they attempt to become challengers for Europe's biggest prizes once again.

"This is a very strong club that rarely sells its best players," Marotta told Sky in Italy.

Inter beat Bologna 2-1 on Saturday to move to the top of Serie A, although Juventus would return to the summit if they manage to overcome Torino in the Turin derby.
