Jesse Lingard reportedly made it clear to West Ham United that he did not want to return to the London Stadium during the recent transfer window.

The 28-year-old spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign on loan at the Hammers from Manchester United, scoring nine times and registering five assists in 16 appearances during a successful spell.

The England international was strongly linked with a permanent move to the London Stadium over the summer, but the transfer window closed with the attacker still at Old Trafford.

According to 90min, David Moyes's side did not make a late push for Lingard, having been informed that the playmaker was not interested in a return.

The report claims that the Englishman will revisit his situation in January, but a move to West Ham is unlikely to occur, with the Man United academy product making it clear that he was not interested in a permanent switch to the Hammers, who will play in the Europa League this season.

Lingard - out of contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side next summer - has only played four minutes of Premier League football for the Red Devils this term.
