Juventus are reportedly regarded as the frontrunners to secure a deal for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood during the summer transfer window.

Juventus are reportedly ready to push for the signing of Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

The 22-year-old is currently attempting to rebuild his career away from Old Trafford after charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault were dropped early last year.

As it stands, Greenwood has been successful in rediscovering the form that had previously established him as one of the top prospects in world football.

During a loan spell at Getafe, the England international has contributed eight goals and six assists from 28 appearances in La Liga.

Most recently, Greenwood netted two strikes and provided one assist as Getafe ran out 3-1 victors at Almeria, keeping his side as outside candidates for qualification.

However, with United looking to generate the biggest fee possible for Greenwood in the summer transfer window, a long-term stay at the Estadio Coliseum is out of the question for the time being.

According to iNews, Juventus are prepared to make a sustained push to secure a deal for the versatile attacker.

The report suggests Juventus are regarded as the frontrunners to add Greenwood to their ranks, particularly if they were willing to negotiate a swap deal involving Gleison Bremer.

As it stands, that appears highly unlikely with the Brazil international having made 33 starts for Juventus in Serie A this campaign, contributing to his side possessing the second-best defensive record in the division.

That said, at a time when both sides do not necessarily have a huge transfer budget, it is claimed that a swap or part-exchange deal should not be ruled out.

What other teams have been linked with Greenwood?

A report earlier this year suggested that there were clubs in the Premier League willing to offer Greenwood an escape route from Old Trafford.

That said, with the suggestion being that United are eager to recoup in the region of £40m for the academy graduate, it is unclear whether a domestic club would be willing to commit to such a deal.

If United are to stick to their £40m price tag, remaining in the Premier League over another move abroad would become more realistic courtesy of foreign teams being less inclined to spend so freely.

United find themselves in a tricky position with Greenwood having just one year left on his contract and there being little prospect of him being reintegrated back into the squad or penning fresh terms.
