Arsenal and Manchester United will both make offers for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana in the early stages of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly preparing to make offers for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana in the early stages of the summer transfer window.

There is currently widespread speculation surrounding the 22-year-old's future, with Everton unlikely to be able to keep hold of him beyond the end of the 2023-24 campaign due to the interest in his services.

Barcelona are said to be admirers of the Belgium international, although the Catalan outfit's financial problems could see them miss out on a deal for him in the upcoming market.

Arsenal and Man United have also been consistently linked with him in recent months, and according to Sport, the Premier League duo are preparing to put bids on the table.

The report claims that Everton have placed a valuation of €60m (£51.3m) on the midfielder, and both Arsenal and Man United have made it clear that they are prepared to meet that price.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are allegedly only prepared to pay €40m (£34.2m), which is unlikely to be accepted by the Merseyside outfit.

However, the Catalan outfit could reportedly attempt to include a player as a makeweight, with the two clubs in discussions ahead of the summer market.

Arsenal and Man United are both thought to be preparing to put offers on the table in the early stages of the summer transfer window in the hope of avoiding a transfer saga.

Onana made the move to Everton from Lille in the summer of 2022, and he has represented the Toffees on 62 occasions, scoring four goals and registering three assists in the process.

The Belgian has had his injury problems this season but has still contributed three goals and one assist in 27 appearances in all competitions for Sean Dyche's side.

Arsenal are expected to sign at least one central midfielder this summer, with the Gunners looking for a regular partner for Declan Rice in the middle.

Man United, meanwhile, could overhaul their midfield department ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen both expected to move on.

The Red Devils are also unlikely to sign Sofyan Amrabat on a permanent basis from Fiorentina, with the Morocco international struggling to make his mark for the club this term.

Onana has scored three goals and registered two assists in 53 Premier League appearances since arriving at Everton, and he has another three years left to run on his contract at Goodison Park.
