Andreas Pereira's permanent transfer from Manchester United to Flamengo is reportedly at risk of collapsing amid his poor form.

Andreas Pereira's proposed permanent transfer to Flamengo from Manchester United is reportedly in danger of collapsing.

The one-cap Brazil international was shipped out on loan to the Brasileiro side last summer after falling out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is seemingly not in the Red Devils' plans moving forward.

Flamengo were thought to have agreed a deal to sign Pereira on a permanent basis from Man United, ending his 10-year stint with the Premier League club since arriving from PSV in 2012.

However, journalist Jorge Nicola now claims that Flamengo's hierarchy are pushing to call off the deal, which would see Man United lose out on a €10.5m (£8.8m).

The report adds that Pereira's age and recent poor performances have contributed to the board's decision, with the 26-year-old dropped for last weekend's 5-0 thrashing of Nova Iguacu.

Pereira has banked four goals and five assists in 75 matches for the Red Devils and is under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2023.
