Manchester United accept the apologises of Liverpool and call for both clubs to move on.

Manchester United have accepted a series of apologies from Liverpool following yesterday's Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez caused controversy by refusing to shake Patrice Evra's hand before the match, while manager Kenny Dalglish was widely criticised for his defence of the Uruguayan.

However, both have now issued apologises and United have revealed that they are keen to move on.

"Manchester United thanks Liverpool for the apologies issued following Saturday's game," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Everyone at Old Trafford wants to move on from this. The history of our two great clubs is one of success and rivalry unparalleled in British football.

"That should be the focus in the future of all those who love the clubs."

United won the match 2-1.
