Manchester United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward reportedly has no plans to part ways with either manager Jose Mourinho or midfielder Paul Pogba.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has not drawn up any plans to part ways with either Jose Mourinho or Paul Pogba.

Tension between the manager and club-record signing has increased over the past five days, with Mourinho opting to strip Pogba of the vice-captaincy at Old Trafford.

That decision came in between Pogba allegedly angering members of the club coaching staff by playing loud music on the way to Saturday's Premier League fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers, and a frosty exchange on the training ground after Mourinho indicated that he was unhappy with an Instagram video which was published on social media during the club's EFL Cup tie with Derby County.

Mourinho has previously been linked with an exit from United after the club's poor start to the new top-flight campaign, and Barcelona are said to be monitoring the situation ahead of a potential bid for Pogba.

However, according to The Times, Woodward does not intend to instigate a departure for either man in the near future.

The stance would appear to be an attempt for the pair to resolve their differences at a time when United are already eight points adrift of league leaders Liverpool and out of the EFL Cup.
