Paul Pogba: 'No problem with Jose Mourinho'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba insists that "there is no problem" between himself and Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has insisted that "there is no problem" between himself and Jose Mourinho.

Pogba, 25, has struggled for consistency during the 2017-18 campaign, and has been left out of United boss Mourinho's starting XI for a number of key matches this season.

Speculation surrounding the Frenchman's future has gathered pace, with suggestions that the Red Devils could be prepared to sell their £89m midfielder at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Pogba, however, has insisted that he 'respects the choices' of Mourinho, and has vowed to overcome his difficulties.

"It's true [being benched] has never happened to me, but it can strengthen me. You have to go through these periods to make you stronger," Pogba told Telefoot. "There is no problem with Mourinho. It's not me who picks the team. Ask the coach if you want to know why I play less. I respect his choices."

Pogba played the full 90 minutes as United consolidated second spot in the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Swansea City at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
