Manchester United reportedly lose out on a £200m kit deal in the wake of Old Trafford protests against the club's ownership.

Manchester United are reportedly set to miss out on a new £200m kit deal in the wake of protests towards the Glazer family.

Red Devils supporters broke onto the Old Trafford pitch in a demonstration against the club's owners before their meeting with Liverpool on May 2, which was ultimately postponed.

A police officer was left needing emergency treatment and one arrest has been made following the protests, and according to The Observer, United have now lost a new training kit deal worth £200m.

The report claims that Myprotein - a sports nutrition company owned by The Hut Group - were due to replace United's current training kit sponsor AON, but The Hut Group have now pulled out of the deal.

With an anonymous group urging a boycott of United's existing partners - such as Adidas and TAG Heuer - on Twitter, The Hut Group were understood to be concerned about the potential backlash that they could have faced.

Man United co-chairman Joel Glazer has vowed to improve communication with supporters following the protests and the Super League debacle.
