Manchester United attacker Bruno Fernandes hails the togetherness of his side following Saturday's win in the Manchester derby.

Manchester United attacker Bruno Fernandes has hailed his side's "amazing comeback" in Saturday's Manchester derby with Manchester City.

Erik ten Hag's side fell behind in the 60th minute of the contest to Jack Grealish's header, but Fernandes levelled the scores in the 78th minute before Marcus Rashford hit the winner four minutes later.

The Red Devils have now won their last nine games in all competitions, including their last five in the Premier League, which has left them in fourth spot in the table, one point behind second-placed Man City.

Fernandes, who has captained the team on a number of occasions this season due to Harry Maguire losing his spot in the starting side, has said that Man United "look like a team now".

"It's obviously important to win the game," Fernandes told BT Sport after the derby. "The manager said before the game, it doesn't matter about the opening, the most important thing is winning it.

"It was an amazing comeback and great effort from the team.

"I said it before the game to the team: 'We look like a team now.' Some time ago, you could see sometimes [we were a team], sometimes each one of us was looking for ourselves. Now you see a proper team that works hard for each other and you see that it pays [off].

"We have to look forward. We have to look forward for the next game because you can be closer, but if you don't keep winning, it will go. So, the mentality now has to be celebrating because it's a big win, it's a long day today, so we have to celebrate that.

"But from tomorrow (Sunday), straight away, it's Crystal Palace. It's always tough to play there, we all know that. So our focus has to be straight on that."

Fernandes also commented on the controversy surrounding his goal, with Rashford in an offside position but not interfering with the play in the eyes of the officials.

"Because I was facing the goal, Marcus probably saw that I was in a better position," he said.

"I didn't know if any one of us was offside or not. The only [defender] close was the defender close to me, so it is what it is. It's a goal at the end, we're really happy for that."

Man United will visit Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday night before making the trip to the Emirates Stadium next Sunday to face division leaders Arsenal.
