Marcus Rashford was not pictured in training with Manchester United on Wednesday ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Marcus Rashford was not pictured training with Manchester United's first team ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The England international had to be substituted during his side's Premier League game with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon after picking up an injury problem.

Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag said after the match that he was not concerned by the problem, and Rashford then said that he was "okay" when asked by a supporter about his fitness on social media.

However, the 26-year-old's availability for Saturday's league contest against Bournemouth is seemingly in doubt, as he was not pictured training alongside his teammates on Wednesday.

It remains to be seen whether Rashford is involved in Thursday's session, and Ten Hag will then hold his press conference on Friday, where he is expected to be asked about the Englishman's fitness.

Rashford dropped down to the bench for last Thursday's Premier League clash against Chelsea, but he was back in the XI for the 2-2 draw with Liverpool last time out.

Should the Red Devils academy product fail to prove his fitness ahead of the trip to Bournemouth, it is likely that Antony will take his spot in the XI, as was the case against Chelsea.

Rashford has found it difficult to show his best form for Man United this season, only managing eight goals and five assists in 38 appearances in all competitions, and there has been fresh criticism of the Englishman due to a perceived lack of effort from some sections of the club's supporters.

What else was noticeable from the training pictures?

Shea Lacey, 16, trained with the first team on Wednesday, and the attacker is being tipped to make the breakthrough into the senior set-up in the near future.

Man United could potentially be missing nine players for the clash against Bournemouth, and neither Raphael Varane nor Jonny Evans were pictured taking part in the session.

As a result, Willy Kambwala could be handed his second successive Premier League start alongside Harry Maguire in the middle of the defence.

Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are both out until the start of May with calf and hamstring problems respectively, and Kambwala is the player benefitting from the defensive issues.

Man United have only picked up two points from their last three Premier League matches, drawing with Brentford and Liverpool either side of their defeat at Chelsea.
